Plain and simple, you saw it and wanted it so you purchased it. Then your driving down the road and you see the same exact Mustang that you purchased next to you. Wow, what a blow huh. Well with a little imagination and a bit of cash you can be different. You should think about purchasing some aftermarket auto parts. This can set you apart from the rest. A little imagination, your own personality, a little work and your Mustang can be different. There are several aftermarket auto parts for the Mustang these days. Really there are an endless amount of items.

There are a lot of things you can do to tailor your car to your own personality. Maybe you can start by adding some interior accessories. Billet accessories are a great way to enhance the look. Start out with a few items such as dash control knobs, door locks, door handles, running boards. These are always a good place to start, because you can see the results quickly. Then you can move onto exterior accessories like Matrix headlamps, tinted or clear taillights. These are all items you can install very easily and will set you apart from all the other models like yours.

I have always said a nice set of aftermarket wheels are always a great way to express you taste, and all you need to do is purchase them and have them mounted. Also a nice set of tires to go with. Remember to purchase a set of tires that will mount on your wheels, as well as being correct for your type of driving conditions. I normally recommend that you keep you stock rims and tires for the winter months if you drive it year round and live in the north. Then you can look into some aftermarket suspension. Always looks nice to lower it a little. Gives you that great handling and a nice look.

Now here is the part where you may want to have some aftermarket performance add-ons. This is where you enjoy the excitement when you hit the gas pedal. Items such as cat back exhaust systems, headers, cold air intakes, computer chips and even a supercharger. There are a lot of manufacturers that make superchargers that mount directly to you engine and with a little computer programming, and a few items included in the kit, you are whistling down the road. And you can still use it as a daily driver. But you may even think about taking it to the drag strip to see what kind times you can run with it in the quarter mile.

There are a lot of aftermarket auto parts you can purchase and install on your own. A little homework before you start the project and you are good to go. Also a lot of suppliers have detailed instructions on the how to. I find it very satisfying to do the work myself. You get the feeling that you did it all! And it is always a good conversation piece. Although, if you have not attempted anything like this before, I always recommend a professional to do the install.

If you need an idea of where to start or what to do as for aftermarket auto parts, there is an endless amount of tech forums out there for you to explore. Also attend car shows at your local soda shop. Most car show people are willing to share their stories. Go out and get some Mustang aftermarket auto parts today and get going. You can't go wrong here. Believe me, you will enjoy the benefits of doing so.

The Best Wheels For Your Mustang

By Brad Gibala
Ford Mustang owners are always trying to customize their car. The Mustang is a favorite amongst sports car owners. When you are a kid you either became a Mustang or Camaro person. Those were the two that could be compared on the same page together. The Mustang has been around for over 40 years now and has seen a lot of changes along the way. Engines have became larger, than smaller, and back to big again. The style has gone from boxy to round and now to a sleeker look.

With so many Mustangs on the road it is not uncommon to see two or even three of the same color, engine size, amongst other characteristics driving down the road at the same time. People that buy these cars buy them to be noticed. You do not think about things like miles per gallon or driving in the winter when you buy it. You want attention. How are you going to be noticed when your Mustang looks like every other Mustang on the road? Ford only makes so many. If you wanted to blend in like everybody else you would have bought a Focus.

You have two options at this point. Dump a bunch of money into the engine to make it tear up the streets or invest into some new custom mustang wheels. Everybody's budget is different but regardless of it you should look into customizing your wheels. It does not matter if you own a six cylinder or a GT. This change will make any car person turn their heads and think about what those wheels would look like on their car.

The best bet for an all around great wheel would to be and find a rim in the seventeen or eighteen inch size. You will get more bang for your buck with one of these wheels. They are by no means small wheels and with the right custom wheel it will make your Mustang stand out but not lose its stock performance. Going into bigger heavier wheels will weigh down the car making it slower. If performance is not your thing than you might as well put a set of twenty inch wheels on it. When you do that be expecting to buy parts for your suspension as the stock assembly just can't take that type of beating.

Chrome Mustang wheels are common and look nice. If you really want to get people thinking you should invest into a set of black Mustang wheels for two reasons. They look awesome and they don't need all the polishing and care that a chrome wheel needs. With summer right around the corner and with television bringing back the show Knight Rider with a Mustang as the car you will want to get your black mustang wheels before everybody else.

Chrome Rims - Tips For a Super Shine

By Jamie Skinner
To many auto enthusiasts, chrome wheels are the finishing touch, making your sweet ride even sweeter. While it seems that everybody is putting on a pair of shining new wheels - inspired by MTV's Pimp My Ride and other trendy car shows popping up on almost every network - chrome wheels aren't just some here today gone tomorrow fad. Great wheels are stylish and timeless and can genuinely make almost any type of car or truck stand out from the crowd even more. But now that you have your new wheels, or you are planning on getting some, what steps do you need to take to care for them?

When you put money into your ride with something like a outstanding set of chrome wheels, it's important to take some time to care for them properly. Quality rims are an investment and the special touch that will take your car's style, look and feel to a new level. Tarnished or dirty rims can have a completely opposite result.

The beginning step in the proper care of your chrome wheels and creating a wonderful shine every time is to keep up the maintenance on a regular basis. Frequent car washing, with special attention to the rims is required. An effective and efficient method of cleaning your wheels to maintain their sparkle is by mixing some warm water and mild laundry washing detergent with which to wash your wheels.

For tougher grime and dull spots though, it takes more than a little laundry soap. There are lots of polishes and cleansers on the market, and not all of them will be correct for your rims. The important thing is to make sure you know for sure that you have authentic chrome wheels. You may have chrome coated wheels or polished aluminum wheels or some other non-authentic rim, which could explain the lack of luster to begin with. Outside of that, there are also different levels of quality of chrome and chrome finishes that your wheels may have.

After determining the quality of your chrome wheels you can select the right polish to fit the job. With high quality chrome you can use almost any chrome-specific polish on the market. Simply apply with some elbow grease, or you can even buy a small buffer that can attach to a drill to make the job a little easier. If you want to play it safe, make sure to look for a chrome polish that's a bit on the mellow side, to reduce the risk of any harm to the finish.

The most crucial thing is to ensure you use chrome polish, not any other type of polish. And never use any coarse scrubbers such as Brillo pads, which could possibly scratch and damage your beautiful, shining chrome wheels. Also, Use soft rags or buffers, chrome specific polish, and regularly wash your wheels on a week to week basis, and your wheels will always look showroom new.

Ford Mustang - Fast Sport Cars

Ford is a well known brand across the world, it owns 33% of Mazda known by its modern cars featured in films such as the Fast and the Furious, Jaguar, Aston Martin and many others. From its many car models, one of the most famous is the Mustang. Manufactured and engineered to be a muscle car, this particular car model stands away from the rest by it unique design and power. The best part is that due to this model's reputation the company keeps improving and redesigning it to deliver a high quality driving machine every single time.
Ford Mustangs are highly customizable sport cars and in recent years have shown many modifications to its design. The wheelbase in both versions (convertible and coupe) are 101.3 inches, the curb weight varies just a tiny bit from the convertible to the coupe models, the curb weight of a mustang 2 door convertible is 3257 pounds while the two door coupe is 3077 pounds. As far as fuel capacity both models, convertible and coupe can hold up to 15.4 gallons. Both models can comfortably accommodate 4 passengers.
As far as design, second and third Mustang generations were not as good as the first one but the machinery quality improved. Second and third generations range from 1974-1993. During the 1980s Mustangs were going through a hard transition when Ford announced that they would replace the rear-wheel drive Mustang with a Mazda-derived four wheel drive version, luckily for them and its clients the fourth generation of Mustangs came along, this generation of fords is almost as welcomed as the first due to the significant redesign this model went through.
The 1994 Mustang coupe was starting to show signs of potential and greatness but it wasn't until 1995 when the GTS model was introduced to the market. In 1996 Mustang's engine went through a major upgrade, this is when the Windsor 5.0 L engine was replaced by 215 horse power 4.6L SOHC Modular V8 engine and in 1998 the SOHC engine was increased to 225 HP through aggressive PCM calibration a larger exhaust and a modified fuel system.
As far as power, the 3.8 V6 engine sent developed 145-190 horsepower, the GT 5.0L V8 sends 240 hp to the back axle.
In 1994-2004 models Mustang GT's power was increased to 260hp and consumers have loved this car ever since, that's not even mentioning the awesome "MODs" available which include new decals, bumpers, paint work, rims, etc. Not only it is extremely reliable and stylish but many consumers have reported that it's stereo system beats any other manufacturer-installed car stereo in the market, it has an extremely good bass, the midrange is perfectly set as well as the highs.
by Ivan Cuxeva Jr

Roller Cam Bearings For Maximum Endurance

Typical steel-backed lead babbit cam bearings do an excellent job in everyday use but have a number of shortcomings in severe-duty applications. First, in many engine designs, oil is routed from the oil pump to the cam, then to the main bearings, and then to the rod bearings, in that order. In a highly stressed mill, it should be the other way around. The rotating assembly spins twice as fast as the cam and is much more heavily loaded than the cam journals.
Second, whenever radical cam profiles are used, so too are high-pressure valvesprings. As they maintain order within the valvetrain, stiff springs also create plenty of extra friction between the lifters and cam lobes. This is transferred directly to the cam bearings where accelerated wear can result.
Finally, there is the issue of oil temperature. We all know that petroleum-based motor oil can break down if things get too hot. Eliminating much of the friction caused by the spinning cam yields a measurable decrease in oil temperature for added longevity and safety.
All three potential problems are eliminated when you switch to rollerized cam bearings. It eliminates the oil flow leakage around the cam bearings, providing full volume to the rotating assembly, and the superior construction of the roller bearings will handle up to 900 pounds of valve-open spring pressure without problems. (Numbers over 1,000 pounds can be tricky, but you’ll never go there unless you’re fielding a Pro Stocker.) The reduced friction can drop oil temperature by as much as 20 degrees, allowing dry sump users to carry and pump less oil.
Are rollerized cam bearings for you? If your motor lives life one quarter-mile at a time, probably not. The block machine work, cam bearing kit, and specific camshaft can cost upward of $700. You could spend the money more effectively elsewhere. But if you stay on it for miles on end, roller cam bearings are a definite engine-saver. Typical users include Bonneville racers, Silver State entrants who run WFOT for 90 miles, and Sprint Car racers who run balls-out for 30 laps. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the end-all endurance crazies of NASCAR. Every last one of them relies on rollerized cam bearings. In this story, Gene Ohly and Jaime Gonzalez of Evans Speed show us the right way to enjoy the benefits of rollerization.
By Steve Magnante

A Look At The New Old Mustang - The Mustang With The Retro Body

By Gregg Hall

Ford was smart to introduce its new Mustang and it was a good year for the 2005 Ford Mustang that made good sales in the sports car venue. The new Mustang GT, which came with V-8 power, started its pricing at $24,995 with a 300-hp motor. Even though this was the only car with a stock 300hp motor in its class any import tuner can put down more power then any mustang.

Perhaps one of the best selling and most notorious models of the Mustang is the V-6 model. The car is at almost 20 grand and comes with a V-6 motor. Ford has always given what the consumer wants but also hasn't given anything turbo charged yet that I have seen. Hopefully this new Mustang can give drivers what they are looking for in a car and if not they can resort to tuners which are and can be the best of the best. Here are some of the many details about the new Mustang that you won't see anywhere else.

It has 16-inch aluminum rims that are cast - the rims are painted to give it flair and show some diversity. It gives you four disk power brakes with all season type of tire but you can change them and get better tires which is recommended . It has huge rotors and calipers to handle the speed that the car will be slowing down from at some points during ownership. Still, you can get upgrades such as a BREMBO big brake kit.

Air-conditioning goes stock with the car and it also comes stock with a rear window defroster as well. Dual power locks and windows come stock in the new mustang.

The new Mustang comes with a 210-horse power motor that makes 4.0 liter SOHC V-6 engine. Probably produces around 200 feet pounds of torque.
